Dream Economics is an experimental interdisciplinary project led by artist Maria Lusitano, about dreams, new economics and the relational self.

 

Building up on the etymological origin of the term economic, which stems from Oiko-nomics, house keeping, the project explores and bridges inner with outer house keeping. Thus, it aims to investigate through artistic research the connection between night dreams and day time dreams and visions to the world such as the ones put forward by novel, post-capitalist economic models, that are broadly entitled “New Economics". These emergent social and economical structures are intimately connected with a shift and expansion in human consciousness that fosters a new conception of the “self”, what I call relational self.

The project unfolds through a series of workshops, exhibitions and solo work leading to a film-essay.
